When you walk into your home, can you distill what represents you best there? That essence is key behind any of my projects – getting to the crux of what makes you…you. Gone should be the home design that simply looks good. There is no need for the façade.

Small footprint, big impact. Guest bathrooms are often built smaller than the rest of the house, which means that extra emphasis in their design should focus on how guests feel in them. For this project, we set out with a playful spirit to encourage guests spending time there to feel at their best.

You are finally ready, and at that point in life, where you can turn your attention to getting your home the way you’ve always wanted it to be. But you’re stuck. STUCK, frustrated and overwhelmed by all the many things to tackle, issues to solve, how to do it, and where to start. You feel you might have some ideas, but false starts keep you guessing.

If you’ve been following us for a while (thank you very kindly!), you’ll know that as a design studio we spend a lot of time customizing metals, burnishing and shaping them into signature elements in each of our projects. This is because I absolutely love the richness and the feel of the right material.

Summer is just around the corner, which means it’s almost time for endless days and nights spent outdoors with friends and family. When it comes to outdoor living, we often overlook the possibility of expanding our living spaces outside of the home and creating a space outdoors that equally reflects the same style and personality that we showcase indoors.

In spite of this family’s long time frustration with their original kitchen’s cramped and inefficient spaces, we knew the right attention could make it great. Turnstyle was selected to dramatically change this space, encouraging lots of future use, and adding interest and openness to the rest of the house.

Kids quickly grow out of bathrooms and parents can easily find frustration when space is lacking and needs are rising. For this girls’ bath, we were tasked with finding more space within the existing footprint, carving out better flow and helping to keep everyone organized and on task for the next coming years.

A modern home with a minimalist tendency, the homeowners felt that despite their original aesthetic the home lived bare. We were brought in to marry simplicity with effervescence.

Each year the holidays suddenly appear and there seems to be a scramble to get everything done. Even though this year feels no different, let’s make it so (!) and finally take our time to enjoy the spirit of giving and the time it takes to truly find the right thing for a friend or loved one.

Yep, I’m a creative person. Almost everything I do in my life actually, somehow involves my creative streak. Not sure which came first of course, but for as long as I can remember, I have used my hands, my brains, my capacity for making things.

The giddiness of making plans is such a great part of life. As a dear friend of mine would always say: “Vorfreude ist die schöenste freude” – translation: Anticipation is the best part of happiness.

This past week was my umpteenth time heading to Round Top. It’s always a great time of year, a wonderful way to help my autumn projects further along and a unique time for me to have a nice long day of full, direct time with my clients. Really the ideal way for me to spend a prolonged period of time with them, and help go through fun items like the discovery and education of a piece.

You may have noticed that almost every time I to tackle a kitchen remodel, there’s nothing I love more than tiling it floor to ceiling. Yep, give me the chance to get into tile, and more is always better! I have definitely mastered what to do and how to do it when it comes to tiling and I never get bored!

We recently sat down with Sara Fritsch of Moxie Space Organizers to discuss all things organization (you can read the interview here). After a thorough dive into the benefits of living and working in an organized space, we decided to put our discussion into practice.

Part of the back of a well-laid out home, this private guest room with its own exterior entrance needed a touch of artistry to instantly make guests feel special. Part short-term, part long term, the goal is to ensure anyone staying over is comfortable and spoiled with all amenities.
